What kind of work are you looking for?
We’re looking for artwork, prose, poetry and other works that can be exhibited in a Zine, if you have an idea and are unsure of the format you’d like to submit please get in contact!
I have a piece of artwork I’d like to submit, are there any guidelines for submission?
Yes! All our zines are UK size A5, we add 3mm bleed for printing purposes so the finished page size is 154mm x 216mm. We’ve put together some handy templates for you here:
All artwork should be at minimum 300dpi to ensure high quality printing and submitted preferably as TIFF, JPEG or PDF files. The publication is black and white so all images should be black and white or greyscale.
We generally advise a maximum of 6 pages for comics or artwork submissions (though this is flexible, email for clarify if you’re not sure)
I’m a writer, how should prose be submitted?
We don’t have a strict rule about text size but we usually recommend a max of 1500 words with a little leeway if needed. We’re happy to take .Doc files, pdf and plain text documents are all welcome as long as the text can be copied easily.
Are there any content restrictions for submissions?
We’re a horror publication and NSFW content is a given, gore, sex and foul language are all fine!
However, we will not accept any work that supports hatespeech. We’re committed to cultivating a friendly environment for all horror creators and as such works promoting homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism etc will not be accepted.
We do not accept work that breaks intellectual property rules, we ask that all work submitted be your own IP and not fan created works.
Do you offer payment for submissions?
We currently do not offer payment for work featured in our books.
We do however offer contributors:
-Access to the finished print files for the book to allow anyone whose work is included the ability to print and sell the book themselves
-A free copy of the finished book (we just ask for you to pay P&P
-We usually get a large run of the book and offer contributors the opportunity to purchase copies at cost price as larger orders work out far more cost effective for everyone.
Who owns the work I submit?
YOU! 100%
All work submitted is still your own to do with as you choose, we are fine with work being used for other publications or your own usage, we only ask for permission to include it in our zine.
I’m an artist/writer looking to collaborate, can you help me?
We don’t actively match up contributors but if you’re looking for someone to collaborate with please drop us an email, if we know anyone suitable we’ll try to help where possible.
